Winter Motoring

As winter has arrived though not with full force but still it reminds us that we should keep our cars in top conditions and be ready for anything. So to achieve this
1- Check your tyre pressure, brake, brake lights more frequently.
2- Top up your radiator with anti freeze to correct concentration for winter.
3- We will like to emphasize on your fog lights but always use them when you really need to. Simply because they can dazzle other motorists and make others to struggle to see you brake lights.
4- Never wait to replace any perished or split wiper blades. Also check them today that they don’t smear your windscreen; otherwise wash them with solution of water and vinegar.
5- You will need more screen wash because of extra spray coming out by damp and salty roads.
6- Check oil regularly always use correct engine oils as cold weather thickens them up.
7- Radio is very handy in case your Satellite navigation is not connected with GPS.
8- Carry de-icer and a windscreen scraper. Never compromise on visibility.

9- Give yourself enough time to demist inside of air. Once it is clear, make sure you are getting enough hot air.
10- Keep sunglasses in car cope with dangerous glare from a low sun especially if it is reflected by snow or rain.
11- Keep a car phone charger if going to travel long distance as cold weather will make your phone battery get discharged.
12- Carrying a waterproof jacket and a high visibility jacket, warm clothing, gloves, boots and a torch in the car in case you get stuck in extreme conditions. Consider keeping a shovel if get stuck in snow.
13- Always keep a bottle of sealed water and some chocolates bars in case there is a traffic jam.So keeping your body well hydrated and maintaing a good sugar level can be very significant.
14- Keep warning triangle so that you can warn on coming traffic of your vehicles presence.
15- Don’t wait in your car for help unless it is necessary for sure you are safer outside of your car. For further safety wear high visibility vests.
16- Don’t leave your vehicle on roadside as it can hinder emergency vehicle.
17- If your car breaks down, then use a road side phone rather than mobile as rescue services can easily locate you.
