MOT-Introduction
Author: Adeel

———————————————————————
MOT stands for “Ministry of Transport” test for safety and legality of all automobiles. It is compulsory and one MOT runs for 01 whole year for all those vehicles that are more than 03 years old. Government fixes test fee which is not expensive but costs to fix problems which make a vehicle an “MOT failure” can run very high.
It is owner’s responsibility to ensure that their MOT is valid and exists on central database. You need MOT when your vehicle is 03 years old. You can drive to and from MOT centre, even if its certificate has run out depending that it meets minimum standard of road worthiness provided it’s pre-booked otherwise you can be fined.
Costs
Regarding costs government set a maximum fee ceiling, e.g. £54 for cars and £29.20 for motorbikes, see full list on www.Direct.gov.uk
